On the basis of revolutionary silicon carbide technology, CoMeTas develops, manufactures and globally markets ceramic membranes for industrial processes and catalytic coatings for engine emission control.
CEO and Founder, Jens Husted Kjær
“It actually all started in February 2006, in an incubator facility at DTU-SCION with a patent for the production and utilization of silicon carbide membrane technology …. and a dream to clean air and liquids in a better way.
By early 2008, we had simply outgrown our premises and we relocated to a more spacious location 15 minutes North of Copenhagen in Denmark. Today we also combine nanotechnology and catalysts with our membranes in our effort to become the preferred supplier of future filtration.”

Silicon Carbide – Changing the Market Place
Silicon carbide is a highly chemically inert and wear resistant ceramic compound. This makes it significantly more durable and environmentally safe compared to competing technologies. The distinctiveness of SiC combined with our production process, gives the material a high hydrofilicity and affinity for water transportation, resulting in a significantly higher flux with improved selectivity. Combining our membranes with nanotechnology and catalysts will further strengthen CoMeTas´position in the future of filtration.
